Flying with Fern, Vale de Figueiras, Portugal, III/2025
Flies, flies, everything flies. All that has wings flies.
That's how a nursery rhyme from my childhood goes.
Children are sitting at the table, one of them loudly reciting the rhyme, while the others are drumming the rhythm with their hands.
The one, who is reciting, names an animal or an object that can fly at the end of the rhyme, and the children raise their arms in agreement. After naming several animals that can fly, like an owl, a mosquito or a bat, the reciter for change ends the rhyme with an elephant, and the kid who isn't paying attention and lifts his or her hands, gets a bad point.
The main purpose of this game is to train concentration and focus.
